Each year, nearly 1,000 donors partner with San Francisco State University to help us fulfill our educational mission. Through their support, they open doors to a high quality education and ensure that students and faculty have access to the resources they need to succeed. Advances, our newsletter for donors, highlights some of the ways our contributors help propel the University forward and allow us to reach new levels of excellence.
The Spring 2017 issue of Advances highlights a number of ways SF State's generous alumni and friends contribute to student and faculty success. Learn about an expanding initiative to help students gain leadership skills, legacy families who established scholarships for a new generation of students, and a visiting scholar of African Diaspora art.
The Fall 2016 issue of Advances reports on the University’s most successful fundraising year to date while highlighting a pioneering gift by alumna Neda Nobari (’84) to establish the Center for Iranian Diaspora Studies, the appointment of Dr. Rachel Gross as the first John & Marcia Goldman Chair in American Jewish Studies, and the pivotal role the Guardian Scholars Program plays on the lives of former foster youth.
University Development introduced Advances in the fall of 2016, replacing the previous newsletter for contributors, Donor Quarterly.
