Supporting our Student Athletes

The Marcuses have made an extraordinary impact on our campus as donors, leaders on the SF State Foundation Board, and community advocates for SF State. Now, they have lent their support to Athletics at SF State with a gift of $150,000.

"George and Judy's generous commitment is a wonderful example of leading donors to San Francisco State helping our student athletes," said Director of Athletics Charles Guthrie.

SF State's athletic facilities have seen many recent improvements -- from a brand new basketball court to state-of-the-art pads and equipment for wrestling. These facilities will play a critical role as we aim to nurture our student athletes and raise visibility for their excellence on the field, on the court, and in the classroom.

"Gifts like this have the ability to transform not only the physical presence of our athletic facilities, but enhances the full student-athlete experience and the opportunity to excel at the highest level," Guthrie said. "On behalf of Gators everywhere, I would like to thank them not only for this gift, but for what they mean to San Francisco State."
