The Arts

As part of San Francisco’s vibrant art scene, San Francisco State University is on the cutting edge of culture-making. Our educators are active artists, filmmakers, designers, musicians, photographers, and writers, among other disciplines. Arts are taught at SF State in the context of the University’s deep relationship with social equity, inclusion, and diversity.

Donating to our arts programs helps students to pursue the arts despite the economic pressures that the Bay Area presents. Many of our students come from historically underrepresented communities, and their creative voices are a key element in maintaining the rich cultural tapestry that makes the Bay Area unique.
